Capacity-building assistance (CBA) is a system-wide, integrated approach to expanding the core-competencies of providers and strengthening institutional infrastructure to improve outcomes for HIV-infected patients.
CBA employs a process that involves assessment of needs using performance indicators, collaboratively structuring sustainable interventions, and tracking progress through appropriate evaluation methods.
NMAETC has developed the BESAFE Cultural Competency Model to help health care providers to have a greater understanding and awareness of how culture may influence their attitudes, behaviors, and policies on health care.
