What is Capacity Building?
Capacity-building assistance (CBA) is a system-wide, integrated approach to expanding the core-competencies of providers and strengthening institutional infrastructure to improve outcomes for HIV-infected patients.
CBA employs a process that involves assessment of needs using performance indicators, collaboratively structuring sustainable interventions, and tracking progress through appropriate evaluation methods.

Education and trainings are available in Clinical Delivery, Infrastructure Management, Continuous Quality Improvement and Cultural Competency.
Become a Consultant
NMAETC is currently recruiting seasoned consultants to assist in delivering a variety of services to clinicians treating minorities with HIV / AIDS.
NMAETC has developed the BESAFE Cultural Competency Model to help health care providers to have a greater understanding and awareness of how culture may influence their attitudes, behaviors, and policies on health care. NMAETC conducts highly interactive BESAFE workshops to increase cultural competency among providers when diagnosing and treating patients. In addition, BESAFE workshops build organizational capacity by developing cultural competency plans. The culturally competent health care provider will develop the needed skills and interpersonal capacity to better respond to a diverse patient population.
