Continuous Quality Initiative
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is the ongoing systemic monitoring, evaluation, and improvement or management process within the care setting. Philosophically, this process focuses on preventing problems and maximizing quality care. The NMAETC CQI Module covers three improvement assessment options:
- Process Related Assessment – Gathering data that pertains to the operation and functioning of your organization or program
- Outcomes Related Assessment – Gathering patient data to determine if improvement is actually happening
- Balance Related Assessment – Gathering data that assess the impact of one action on the operation of other parts of the organization (unintended effects)
NMAETC utilizes an organizational assessment consisting of a collection of core indicators and a continuous quality improvement (CQI) model comprising eight, well-defined steps as its main CQI training components.
NMAETC’s HIV Qual CQI consultants deliver support on-site and via telephone coaching to help agencies improve in clinical core data categories (such as PPD screening, gynecological care, anti-retroviral therapy and viral load/CD4 counts) by using a multidisciplinary team approach.
Support services in the area of Infrastructure Management may be obtained from NMAETC by accessing our Training Request Form (CBA/OSA) and indicating the particular areas of service desired.
