Charles R. Drew Postgraduate School
Charles R. Drew Postgraduate School was founded in 1966 in response to the lack of adequate medical facilities in the area. The institution later became a University and changed its name in 1987 to reflect its expanded academic role and identity. Emphasizing service to the community, the University draws inspiration from the life of Dr. Charles R. Drew. NMAETC is proud to have this university as a part of its Regional Performance Site Network, which also serves as a Performance Site for
Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, College of Science and Health offers seven (7) undergraduate degree programs and four (4) major concentrations along with one (1) master’s degree program. The educational experience at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science is intended to inspire our students to commit to lifelong learning and to recognize that learning is pleasurable and knowledge is power.
The College of Science and Health is committed to providing service to medically underserved populations and is an active force for the educational preparation of students from surrounding communities and other disadvantaged areas. The students, faculty, and staff of the College are dedicated to competence in allied health education, community service and research.
In the area of HIV/AIDS, Charles R. Drew University provides more than 12 different HIV/AIDS related programs both at the community and international levels.
